RALEIGH, N.C. -- In the aftermath of Hurricanes Dennis, Floyd, and Irene, this year's North Carolina State Fair offered visitors a chance to learn how to prevent future flood damage. FEMA and state mitigation experts along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers designed and built a flood simulator exhibit.

Fair-goers got a first hand look at a flooding disaster, how it happens, its impact, and what they can do about it. The thousands of people that visited the FEMA booth learned how to prevent flooding in their homes and businesses from the experts.
