Five Disaster Recovery Centers to Close

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Five federal/state disaster recovery centers (DRCs) and three mobile units that have been answering questions and providing disaster recovery information to hurricane victims will close at noon on Saturday, Dec. 4, leaving nine centers still open to lend applicants assistance.

Closing will be the DRCs in Wilson, Supply, New Bern, Elizabethtown and Washington. After Dec. 4, applicants may still obtain assistance by visiting one of the remaining nine DRCs or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 (TTY 1-800-462-7585.) Those lines are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

All 14 current DRCs will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 and Friday, Dec. 3. They will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 4. Beginning Monday, Dec. 6, the remaining nine centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday hours will remain the same.
