Mobile Units to Demonstrate Disaster Resistance

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Specially equipped mobile information centers designed to provide the public with the knowledge to rebuild their hurricane-damaged homes to be more disaster resistant will tour eastern North Carolina the week of Dec. 7.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mitigation experts will demonstrate how to wind-proof and elevate structures in flood zones as well as implement other disaster prevention measures. The mobile units will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, Dec. 12. The schedule and locations are listed below.
