Frankfort, KY -- The Disaster Recovery Center serving the Eastern Kentucky community of Martin will close at 7 p.m. Friday, August 8 state and federal disaster relief officials said today.

The center assists individuals affected by the storms, floods, mud- and rockslides, and tornadoes that struck the state between June 14 and June 27. The Martin Disaster Recovery Center operates from the Martin Community Center, 7199 Ky. Route 80, Martin, KY.

Persons affected by the disaster are urged to call FEMA's toll-free number at 1-800-621-3362 and apply for assistance. Hearing and speech impaired individuals may call TDD at 1-800-462-7585. Some disaster programs include temporary housing assistance, help for other disaster-related needs and low-interest disaster loans.
