Richmond, KY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has a toll-free telephone number that residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky can call for information on recovering from the May 4-27 storms. Representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday to answer questions about the assistance process or the status of applications. Residents affected by the flooding are encouraged to first register with FEMA by calling 1-621-FEMA (3362). Hearing and speech impaired individuals may call TTY at 1-800-462-7585.
Those who have registered for state and federal disaster assistance can receive information about, or provide updates to, their application by calling FEMA. It is important that persons registered with FEMA provide a current address and phone number if they move. For the speech and hearing impaired, the TTY number is (800) 462-7585.
Even those who haven't registered can receive answers to disaster-related questions at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
