Mobile Recovery Centers To Serve Areas Near Maury And Bedford Counties

Nashville, TN -- As the federal-state disaster recovery effort continues to serve Tennessee's storm survivors, mobile disaster recovery centers will open in Maury and Bedford counties this weekend to serve survivors of the surrounding areas who have applied for assistance.

Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will staff the mobile centers.

Saturday, May 24 Maury County--921 Lion Parkway, Columbia (High School stadium parking lot
Sunday, May 25 Bedford County - 847 Union St., Shelbyville (lot adjacent to Bedford County Medical Center)

Disaster specialists will provide information on available assistance, SBA low-interest home and business loans, and other programs to help cover residential and business losses not fully compensated by insurance.

Before visiting the DRC, applicants should register for assistance by calling toll-free 800-621-FEMA (3362). Individuals with speech or hearing impairments who use special keyboard equipment (TDD) should call 800-462-7585.

Applicants are reminded to bring their FEMA registration number and social security number when visiting any disaster center. They are not required to visit a DRC, but are invited to do so if they have questions about disaster aid or want to check the status of their requests. In addition to the three mobile centers moving among counties, three fixed-site DRCs are operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week in Jackson, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga.
