Nashville, TN -- A mobile disaster recovery center will be established in Chattanooga Monday and Tuesday (May 26, 27) to provide help to residents who suffered losses in the severe storms of May.

The mobile recovery center will locate at 1600 E. 23rd Street in the parking lot of a Bi-Lo supermarket. The hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Disaster specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available to explain assistance programs and answer questions.

This will be the second recovery center serving Hamilton County. There is a fixed site at 6125 Preservation Dr. working the same hours.

To receive assistance, residents of declared counties must first register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) toll-free between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. seven days a week. Applicants with speech or hearing impairment should use the TDD number, 1-800-462-7585.
