More Disaster Recovery Centers Open in West Virginia Centers to Open in Cabell and Roane Counties

Charleston, WV - State and federal officials announced the opening of three additional Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC). Opening Thursday, April 3 will be the DRCs in Milton and Spencer. The Barboursville DRC opens April 8. These centers provide information to those affected by the damage and losses caused by the severe winter storm Feb. 16 and continuing.

DRCs in Hamlin, Lincoln County, and Big Chimney, Kanawha County, remain open until further notice. All DRCs are open daily from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. All DRC offices will be closed Sunday, April 6.

Locations and Dates of Operation
The Milton DRC (Cabell County) is located at 1139 Smith Street in the Old Milton City Hall. It will operate from Thursday, April 3 through Saturday, April 5.

The Barboursville DRC (Cabell County) is located at 5233 Route 10 in the Cabell County EMS Station #5. This center is open Tuesday, April 8 through Thursday, April 10.

The Spencer DRC (Roane County) is located at 811 Madison Avenue in the Roane County Commission on Aging. It opens Thursday, April 3 and operates through Thursday, April 10.

Individuals are encouraged to call the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) toll-free teleregistration number 800-621-FEMA (3362) to apply for assistance. People with hearing or speech impairments may call (TTY) 800-462-7585.

West Virginia State Coordinating Officer Stephen S. Kappa and Federal Coordinating Officer Louis Botta urge those with questions to visit one of the centers. "There is a wide range of disaster-recovery information available at the centers," Kappa said. "This is an opportunity for people to sit down with different agencies and get their recovery process questions answered."

Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide information on low-interest loans and help applicants complete disaster loan applications for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. For more information, please visit SBA's Website @ www.SBA.gov/disaster.
