Charleston, WV - State and federal officials announce the opening of three Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Jackson, Lincoln, and Wayne counties to assist those affected by the damage and losses caused by the winter storm of Feb. 16 and continuing. The DRCs are open daily 10am to 7pm, starting Wednesday, March 26. Locations and dates of operations are listed below.

Individuals are encouraged to call the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) toll-free teleregistration number 800-621-FEMA (3362) to apply for assistance. People with hearing or speech impairments may call (TTY) 800-462-7585.

West Virginia State Coordinating Officer Stephen S. Kappa and Federal Coordinating Officer Louis Botta urge those with questions to visit one of the centers. "There are many programs available for homeowners, renters and businesses," Kappa said. "This is an opportunity for people to sit down with different agencies and get their recovery process questions answered." Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide information on low-interest loans and help applicants complete disaster loan applications for home, personal property and businesses of all sizes.
