GENERAL
I don't understand why I should not be able to purchase compounded, bioidential hormones. I have done much research on hormone replacement therapy, and I refuse to take the chemical compounds that are offered by the drug manufacturers. Bioidentical hormones are compounded for me and my specific needs, they are not a one size fits all like the chemicals that the drug companies want us to use. I have a career that is demanding and stressful, and because I am able to replace the hormones I am losing with bioidentical hormones, I am able to work full time and not lose productivity due to not feeling well, having hot flashes, mood swings and symptoms that unless a person has experienced them, they cannot understand. This is the USA and even though the drug companies throw large sums of money at the government to get what they want, that is not how things should be in this country. I have made an informed choice and have chosen bioidentical hormones. If I can't buy them here I will get them somewhere else as I will not take the chemicals that the drug companies are manufacturing. Bioidentical hormones have been used in Europe for many years. Of course, the US is usually behind the curve on that type of thing because of the big money from the pharmaceutical companies.
