homoharringtonine A cytotoxic plant alkaloid isolated from the evergreen tree Cephalotaxus with potential antineoplastic activity. Homoharringtonine binds to the 80S ribosome in eukaryotic cells and inhibits protein synthesis by interfering with chain elongation.
