NRC TO HOLD PUBLIC
MEETING JULY 17 ON REACTOR VESSEL |

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff
will meet with the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company on July 17
in Rockville, Md., to discuss the ongoing evaluation of leakage at the bottom
of the reactor vessel in South Texas Project Unit 1, located about 12 miles
from Bay City, Texas.
The meeting will be held in the Commission Meeting Room on the first floor of One White Flint, 11555 Rockville Pike, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Meeting topics will include the current status, progress on determining the leakage’s root cause, and details on the repairs used. NRC staff will be available for comments or questions from the public before the meeting adjourns.
