Printable Version PDF Icon

Daniel Lee Schroeder has been assigned as the new Nuclear Regulatory Commission resident inspector at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, Pa. He joins Senior Resident Inspector Craig Smith at the two-unit site, which is operated by Exelon. He replaces Michael Buckley who was reassigned to NRC Headquarters in Rockville, Md.

Mr. Schroeder joined the NRC in July 2002 as an inspector in the Performance Evaluation Branch in the Region I Division of Reactor Safety in King of Prussia, Pa. Prior to joining the agency he spent 13 years working for BOC Gases in Kittery, Me., Claymont, Del. and Nashville, Tenn., in various engineering and management positions. He also served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy.

Mr. Schroeder is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physics.

The Peach Bottom resident inspectors can be reached at 717/456-7614.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
