A Nuclear Regulatory Commission Atomic Safety and Licensing Board has scheduled oral argument for June 5 on whether a hearing should be granted on a challenge to a request by Dominion Nuclear Connecticut to amend the license of its Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2, in Waterford, Conn.

The proceeding involves a petition for intervention submitted in December by the Connecticut Coalition Against Millstone challenging a Dominion proposal to change certain facility technical specifications relating to containment closure during activities in the spent fuel pool area.

Oral argument by counsel for the parties will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Conrad/Morgan Meeting Room of the Best Western Sovereign Hotel, 9 Whitehall Avenue, in Mystic, Conn. The public is invited to observe the proceeding.

The following Administrative Judges from the NRC’s Atomic Safety And Licensing Board are members of this panel: Ann Marshall Young, Chair; Dr. Richard F. Cole; and Dr. Thomas S. Elleman.
