| | Secretary Powell accompanied President Bush on his trip to Northern Ireland, where the President consulted with Prime Minister Blair. They departed on Monday, April 7th, and returned to the United States on Tuesday, April 8th.
The trip focused on the operations in Iraq. They talked about the status of the ongoing military operation, they also talked about the humanitarian relief efforts, they talked about reconstruction and they talked about the role of the United Nations. They also talked about the peace process in Northern Ireland. The subject of the Middle East could come up, as well.
