General

If you don’t find the information that you need on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page or elsewhere on this Web site, there are three convenient ways to contact us for information on the Mississippi Coastal Mapping Project.  To make accessing information as easy as possible, we have set up a local call center for general information, a national FEMA call center for more technical information, and an e‑mail address to send us your inquiries electronically.  Please give us a call or send us an e-mail if you need assistance.

Inquiries by Telephone

Mississippi Coastal Study Call Center

We have set up a local call center specifically for the Mississippi Coastal Mapping Project. You can reach a Customer Service Representative from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Central time, Monday through Friday, toll free, at 1-866-816-2804.

Customer Service Representatives are prepared to provide general information about the status of the project; the information presented on the Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports for Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson Counties; and contact information for local officials who can answer questions about a specific property or issue.

FEMA Map Assistance Center

Those with more technical questions regarding the National Flood Insurance Program and its rules and regulations can contact the FEMA Map Assistance Center (FMAC). Map Specialists in the FMAC respond to inquiries from Federal, State, and local officials and the general public. They are prepared to inform callers about:

  • Criteria for Letters of Map Change (LOMCs) and Physical Map Revisions;
  • Appeal, Protest, and Compliance Issues;
  • Preliminary versions of DFIRMs and FIS reports;
  • Processing Fees for Map Change Requests;
  • Requests for Technical and Administrative Support Data; and
  • Requirements for Letters of Determination Review (LODRs).

The FMAC can be reached, toll free, at 1-877-FEMA MAP (1-877-336-2627). The FMAC hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 6:30 p.m., Eastern time.
