West:
A moderately strong Pacific storm will affect coastal areas of Oregon and northern California. Wind gusts could be as high as 65 mph along the coast and 40 mph inland through midday. The heaviest rain should fall from central Oregon to northern California and along the foothills of the Sierra-Nevada in central California. Temperatures throughout the West will be moderate for this time of year.
Midwest:
A weak area of low pressure will bring light snow across parts of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin today. The rest of the Midwest will be partly cloudy and relatively cold. Highs will range from the 20s in the far north to the 40s from the central Plains to the Ohio Valley.
Northeast:
Winds are diminishing across the Northeast after the weekend storm and, except for some lake-effect snow, the snow has ended. Tuesday will see low temperatures from 10 to 15 below zero around the Adirondacks of New York. Much of the rest of the region will be in the teens to lower 20s.
South:
As a high pressure system takes over, much of the Southeast will go through the first half of the week without rain with the exception of a few scattered showers across the western Gulf coast. Low temperatures will be in the 20s for the southeast and northern Florida with 30s and 40s over the remainder of the region. A gradual moderating trend will take over this week with highs climbing into 50s north and 60s to 70s south. (National Weather Service, Media Sources)
