National Weather

West
A cold front moving through the Rockies will produce strong winds, some rain and snow showers.

High wind watches and warnings are posted for parts of Montana and Wyoming for sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts over 60 mph.

Midwest
Generally light amounts of rain will move through the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes as a weak cold front pushes through. Most of the region will be quite windy through Wednesday as the cold front moves through the region.

Northeast
There may be some light rain and snow across parts of extreme northern New England. Morning showers across parts of the Middle Atlantic region with rainfall amounts light. High temperatures will range from the 40s and 50s north to the 60s and lower 70s south.

South
Showers over parts of Kentucky and Tennessee. Temperatures will be warm across the Southeast and hot over parts of Texas where Houston will be approaching 90 degrees.

Tropical Weather Outlook

Atlantic - Caribbean Sea - Gulf of Mexico
Showers and thunderstorms over portions of the southwestern Caribbean Sea and Central America are associated with a weak area of low pressure near the east coast of southern Nicaragua.  This system is poorly organized and tropical cyclone development is not expected. Otherwise, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.

Eastern and Central Pacific:
Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.

Western Pacific:
No current tropical cyclone activity affecting U.S. interests. (NOAA, National Hurricane Center, Central Pacific Hurricane Center and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center)

Earthquake Activity

No significant earthquake activity to report. (USGS, Earthquake Hazards Program)
