Training and Decontamination Equipment Storage (TDES) Facility, Chrisman, Illinois (April 2007)
The Edgar County Emergency Services & Disaster Agency received funding for construction of a Training and Decontamination Equipment Storage (TDES) Facility in Chrisman, Illinois, through the Chemical Stockpile and Emergency Preparedness (CSEP) Program. The U.S. Army and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) jointly developed the CSEP Program to ensure that communities in the immediate vicinity of chemical storage installations are capable of providing maximum protection from chemical agent hazards.
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FEMA regulations for NEPA compliance (44 CFR Part 10), FEMA has prepared an Environmental Assessment to document the review and analysis of any potential impacts the proposed TDES Facility would have on the natural and human environment.
