MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) located in the Mobile Civic Center will close on Friday, November 4.

The DRC’s address is 401 Civic Center Drive, Mobile.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. - Fri. If anyone has questions or would like to check on the status of his or her application in person, this should be done before 6 p.m. on Nov. 4.

Residents and evacuees who have questions after the DRC closes may call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 or, TTY 800-462-7585 for the speech- or hearing-impaired. Helpline representatives will be able to give the same information provided by officials at the recovery center. Multilingual operators are also available.

Registrants are reminded to have their FEMA registration number and their social security number when visiting or calling for information.

FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Fire Administration. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
