MONTGOMERY, Al. -- An Alabama and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mobile Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be open for two days-Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 in Opp. The hours of operation on both days will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The DRC will be located at Frank Jackson State Park, 100 Jerry Adams Drive, Opp, in Covington County.
Anyone with a disaster-related need may visit to talk face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists from the state, FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and representatives from other government and volunteer agencies.
Before visiting a DRC, applicants should first register for assistance by calling toll-free 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Individuals with speech or hearing impairments who use special keyboard equipment (TTY) should call 1-800-462-7585. The lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice. Registration via the Internet is also available at www.fema.gov.
Applicants are reminded to bring their FEMA registration number and social security number when visiting a DRC. Those who have already registered for federal/state disaster assistance are not required to visit a center regarding their application, but are invited to do so for disaster-related information on state/FEMA programs and SBA low-interest loans to individuals and businesses.
