JACKSON, Miss. - State and federal officials have opened a new Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Wilkinson County. The center, located in Woodville, is serving individuals impacted by Hurricane Katrina. More Disaster Recovery Centers will open soon in other locations throughout Mississippi.

The new center is located at:

Wilkinson Industrial Complex
1495 U.S. Highway 61 South
Woodville, MS

People who have suffered losses or damages as a result of Hurricane Katrina may go to any DRC to learn the status of their registrations. Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies, as well as loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration, are available at the Woodville center to answer questions and provide recovery information. Written materials about various assistance programs are also available to individuals and business owners.

Disaster victims may visit any Disaster Recovery Center to meet face-to-face with recovery specialists. However, they are urged to register for assistance first by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The number for those who are speech- or hearing-impaired is TTY 1 800 462 7585.

The Woodville DRC will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
