Winfield DRC Transitions to SBA Loan Outreach Center

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The federal/state Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Winfield will close Wednesday, but will transition to a U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today.

The DRC at the Winfield-Foley Fire Department, 2663 E. Highway 47, will close Wednesday, Aug.27, at 6 p.m. Hours for the SBA DLOC this week are Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Sunday, closed; Monday (Labor Day) closed. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Disaster SBA representatives at the DLOC are able to provide loan applications, answer questions, explain the application process, and help individuals complete their disaster loan applications. There are many other federal agencies, state agencies, and community organizations with resources to help disaster-impacted individuals. Accessing these resources may aid residents who have unmet needs stemming from the disaster.

The 20 counties declared June 25 for FEMA's Individual Assistance are: Andrew, Cass, Clark, Gentry, Greene, Holt, Johnson, Lewis, Lincoln, Linn, Livingston, Marion, Nodaway, Pike, Ralls, St. Charles, Stone, Taney, Vernon and Webster. The declaration covers flooding between June 1 – July 18.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
