Mobile Disaster Recovery Center To Open

Corpus Christi, TX -- A Disaster Recovery Center will be open in Beeville on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday July 29.

The Center will be located in Room 203 of the Bee County Courthouse, at 105 West Corpus Christi, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Disaster Recovery Centers are designed to provide detailed program information to those who have already applied for, or need, assistance under President Bush's July 17 disaster declaration. Those who have already registered may use the Centers to provide any updates to their registrations, such as additional damages or changes in contact information.

Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and other agencies will be on hand to answer disaster assistance questions.

Individuals and businesses in the Texas counties of Bee, Brazoria, Calhoun, Galveston, Goliad, Jackson, Matagorda, Refugio and Victoria may be eligible for federal and state assistance under the disaster declaration signed by President Bush on July 17.

Those who were affected by Hurricane Claudette and who have yet to register may do so by calling 1-800-621 FEMA between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. seven days a week. Speech or hearing impaired persons may call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 during those same hours.
