OMAHA, Neb. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are opening a Disaster Recovery Center on Monday, Aug. 30 in the Florence Community Center, 2920 Bondesson St. The center will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until further notice.

The center provides a face-to-face opportunity for disaster survivors to talk with recovery specialists about a variety of governmental and voluntary programs designed to help them begin rebuilding their lives and property and to learn ways to prevent future damages.

"This is a great opportunity for the residents of Burt, Douglas and Washington counties who were affected by the storms to get some one-on-one assistance with their recovery," said Charles Biggs, FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer.
