ORLANDO, Fla. -- On Sunday, September 19, residents of the Charlotte County area who have suffered damage to their homes because of Hurricane Charley can go to a one-stop location to obtain a wealth of information on rebuilding.

A construction fair, sponsored by the state of Florida and the Federal Emergency Management Agency along with the Charlotte Builders & Contractors Association and the Florida Home Builders Association, will offer Port Charlotte area residents an opportunity to learn about building codes, contracts, licensing and other important details involved with rebuilding their homes after the hurricane.

State and federal representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about disaster assistance, flood insurance and building techniques for reducing and preventing future hurricane damage. Those who attend can meet with contractors, get lists of other contractors available for hire and their specialties, and view sample contracts.

The event is free of charge.
