HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Federal, state, local and voluntary agencies continue to work in partnership to help Pennsylvania residents recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Floyd in September. Since President Clinton's Sept. 18 disaster declaration, $26.6 million in aid has been provided to assist victims of the hurricane.

Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, Philadelphia and York counties were declared on Sept.18, for Hurricane Floyd damage. Berks County was added on Oct. 13.

More than 16,442 individuals, families and businesses have applied for disaster-aid programs.

Applicants who have questions about the status of their application can call FEMA's toll-free Helpline - which remains in operation. The toll-free Helpline number is 1-800-525-0321. Speech and hearing impaired applicants can call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585.
