Mission:
The mission/research efforts of this location include, (1) flavor/quality research encompassing associated areas of production, processing, and mycotoxin research and sampling for aflatoxin; (2) improving the processing efficiency, reducing salt and other wastes, improving product quality and food safety of fermented and acidified vegetables; (3) quantify the effects of atmospheric pollutants and climate change on plant growth; (4) development of superior genetic population in corn and cereal grains/development of new techniques to evaluate, manage, and control disease problems in corn and cereal grains; and (5) provide a multi-disciplinary approach for development of basic technologies that lead to improved product quality, economic worth, nutritional value and reduced production costs or losses for soybeans.
