Historic and Cultural rebuilding...

Entire communities were disrupted by the Gulf Coast hurricanes of 2005. Many of the damaged sites include commercial centers, town squares, and open spaces. These public spaces such as parks and playgrounds as well as cultural centers like historical museums provide a communal sense of place and identity to the area towns and neighborhoods.
FEMA is committed to ensuring that community treasures are restored and that redevelopment efforts rebuild whole communities not just business and industry.
