MONTGOMERY, Al. - The Alabama Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a fourth disaster outreach event to assist evacuees and Alabama residents affected by Hurricane Katrina in developing long-term housing solutions.

Time: Noon to 5 p.m.

Applicant assistance specialists will be on site to work one-on-one with individuals and families on their applications for disaster aid and long-term housing solutions. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will also be there along with the following state, local and federal agencies which have been invited to attend.

Individuals with disaster-related needs who have not yet registered for assistance should call the FEMA teleregistration number, 800-621-FEMA (3362). The speech- or hearing-impaired may call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585. Lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice. Multilingual operators can assist applicants in many languages. Registration via the Internet is available at www.fema.gov.

Prior outreach meetings were held in Anniston, York and Montgomery.
