Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Lisle, Illinois, have announced the assignment of Julio Lara as the agency's Senior Resident Inspector at the Kewaunee nuclear power plant in Kewaunee, Wisconsin.

Lara joined the NRC in 1988 as a reactor engineer at the Region I Office in Pennsylvania. In 1991, he transferred to Region II in Georgia to become a resident inspector at the Watts Bar plant in Tennessee. Most recently, he had been a resident inspector at the Monticello plant in Minnesota. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston. He is a licensed professional engineer. Lara and his wife and daughter reside in the Green Bay, Wisconsin, area.
