NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with officials of GPU Nuclear Corporation (GPUN) on Wednesday morning, May 28, to discuss the results of NRC's assessment of the May 13 remedial emergency exercise at GPUN's Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1. They also will discuss actions GPUN has taken to address the weaknesses observed during the March emergency exercise at the facility.

The meeting, which begins at 10:00 a.m., will be held in the GPUN Training Center at the TMI site. It is open to the public for observation only.
