Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, have announced the assignment of Peter J. Habighorst as the agency's Resident Inspector at the Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear power plant, located in Buchanan, New York.
Mr. Habighorst joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in 1987. From 1988 through 1992 he was a resident inspector at the Millstone Station, Unit 2, in Waterford, Connecticut, and from 1992 through January of this year, he was a resident inspector at the Haddam Neck nuclear plant in Connecticut. Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Habighorst worked as a nuclear plant engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He received a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and is working toward a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of New Haven.
