Disaster Recovery Centers to Close in Clarksville and Hannibal

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- After serving more than 300 visitors, the Disaster Recovery Centers in Pike and Marion County will end operations at noon on Saturday, August 2.

However, these centers located at the Chapel Hill Professional Building, 109 Virginia St. in Hannibal and the Clarksville Visitors Center, 204 N. 2nd Street in Clarksville are operating now from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through this Saturday, closed Sunday. New hours for next week will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and until noon on the closing day, Saturday, August 2.

For those who still may have disaster assistance questions after the centers close, help remains just a phone call away. Operators at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) Helpline- 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585-  are available to answer disaster assistance questions, assist applicants who may want to check on the status of their application, and register disaster victims for assistance. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. August 27, 2008, is the deadline to apply for disaster assistance for the severe storms and flooding that occurred from June 1 to July 18.

Those who may have questions about low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) can call the SBA at 1-800-659-2955, e-mail to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or visit SBA's Web site at: www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.

The DRC in Lincoln County at the Winfield-Foley Fire Department, 2663 E. Hwy. 47 in Winfield remains open until further notice with hours for this week through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed Sunday and then beginning on Monday, July 28, new hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, and closed on Sunday.
