JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- If you have registered for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a result of the recent storms and have suffered additional damage from the flooding, report the additional damage to the FEMA via the helpline, FEMA officials advise.

Once the additional damage is reported to 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or the TTY number 1-800-462-7585, FEMA will re-inspect the property for a new determination of eligibility. However, no households may receive more than the program maximum of $28,800 for this disaster declaration.

If you received damage from the storms beginning mid-March and continuing through this month and have not registered for FEMA assistance, contact the helpline as soon as possible. If you have registered, please keep FEMA informed of any changes in your contact information.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
