No. 96-62 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Thursday, April 25, 1996)
NRC'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET
MAY 3 IN ROCKVILLE, MD.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on
Medical Uses of Isotopes will brief the Commission May 3 in
Rockville, Maryland, on its views concerning a National Academy
of Sciences report on medical uses of nuclear material.
The briefing will begin at 2 p.m. in the Commissioners'
hearing room, lobby level, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville
Pike.
Earlier in the day, the committee will meet at 8 a.m., at
Two White Flint North, Room T2B3, 11545 Rockville Pike, to
prepare for the afternoon session and to discuss an advance
notice of proposed rulemaking that is under consideration. The
rule would impose, for certain nuclear materials licensees, more
detailed requirements in areas such as the role of the radiation
safety officer and the radiation safety committee.
Both the morning and afternoon sessions will be open to the
public.
