NOTE TO EDITORS:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste has scheduled a technical meeting August 27-28 in Rockville, Maryland.
The topics to be discussed include development of a standard review plan for decommissioning and updates on the proposed Yucca Mountain project, including the recent working group on the near-field environment and the performance of engineered barrier systems.
Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a Notice of Meeting published in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in Room T-2B3 of the NRC's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days and continue until 6:00 p.m. on August 27, and until 4:00 p.m. August 28.
