NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Special Projects Office staff will meet with officials of Northeast Utilities and Parsons Power Group on Friday, June 12, to discuss the Independent Corrective Action Verification Program at Millstone 2 in Waterford, Ct.

The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Leland F. Sillin Training Center at the Millstone site. The agenda includes an update on the status of the ICAVP, the exit meeting for the Tier 3 inspection, and a technical discussion on Parsons' discrepancy report on setpoints for instrument controls. The Tier 3 inspection involved an assessment of NU's current design control processes, a review of the adequacy of past design changes and a review of NU corrective actions outside the scope of the ICAVP-selected systems.
