DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Hamilton County will close permanently at 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2008.

The Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) open temporary DRCs to provide face-to-face assistance to those affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding beginning May 25 and continuing.

The Hamilton County DRC at the Hamilton County Mental Health Services Building, 500 Fair Meadow Drive, Webster City, IA 50595, opened July 15, 2008.

It is not necessary to visit a DRC to receive FEMA assistance. Persons who suffered damage should register with FEMA by calling its toll-free telephone line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585, or online at www.fema.gov.
