DES MOINES, Iowa -- The schedule for operating Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) throughout Iowa during the upcoming July 4 holiday weekend has been announced.
The Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) operate the DRCs to provide face-to-face assistance to those affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding beginning May 25 and continuing.
Thursday, July 3:
- All DRCs will close at 5 p.m.
- Three DRCs will not reopen:
- Delaware County, Manchester, IA
- Story County, Nevada, IA
- Tama County, Toledo, IA
Friday, July 4:
- All DRCs will be closed.
Saturday, July 5:
- DRCs will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except:
- Cedar County, Cedar, IA, DRC will open at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
- Butler County, Parkersburg, IA, DRC will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
- Louisa County, Wapello, IA, DRC will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
- Two DRCs will not reopen after Saturday:
- Adams County, Corning, IA
- Hardin County, Iowa Falls, IA
Sunday, July 6:
- DRCs will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the following exceptions:
- Closed Sunday:
- Butler County, Parkersburg, IA
- Cedar County, Tipton, IA
- Louisa County, Wapello, IA.
