PUBLIC INVITED TO OPEN HOUSE IN LAS VEGAS WITH LOCAL NRC REPRESENTATIVES |
|||||||||
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission invites members of the public to an open house March 28 in Las Vegas with its on-site representatives to discuss NRC activities related to the possible future nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain. The three on-site representatives will be available for one-on-one discussions about their oversight role now (while the Department of Energy is evaluating whether it will recommend that a repository be built at Yucca Mountain) and later (if DOE submits an application to the NRC to build and operate a repository there). The open house will begin at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, 9090 Alta Drive. The on-site representatives are William L. Belke, Chad J. Glenn and Robert M. Latta. NRC nuclear waste management officials from Rockville, Maryland, will also attend and be available to address any questions from the public. |
