Overview: No retail unbundling program is being considered at this time by either the North Carolina Public Utilities Commission or the State legislature. The emphasis instead is on trying to get gas service to all areas of the State. Industrial and commercial customers are able to receive unbundled service. |
EIA State Data: In 2006, North Carolina had 1,022,430 residential and 111,128 commercial customers. They consumed 57 and 47 billion cubic feet of natural gas, respectively. The average prices paid for natural gas purchased from local distribution companies by residential and commercial customers were $16.93 and $14.06 per thousand cubic feet, respectively. |
