sLowlife

sLowlife - image of sprouts

"sLowlife," a blend of science, still and time-lapse photography, movies and sounds, provides an engaging and scientifically accurate look into the world of plants as they respond to their surroundings. By accelerating a plant's life to our own timeframe, "sLowlife" offers a journey into altered perceptions—with sometimes unnerving results.

The exhibition, currently at the United States Botanic Garden (USBG) in Washington, D.C., was originally showcased at the Indiana University School of Fine Arts Gallery. The USBG, Chicago Botanic Garden, American Society of Plant Biologists, Indiana University and the National Science Foundation sponsor "sLowlife."
