This program is designed to interest minority students at the high school or college level in science, however, all applicants will be considered. The Summer Apprentice & Intern Programs are available for students to work as assistants with our scientific, professional, and technical employees. These positions provide students paid summer intern experience involving substantive work assignments during the summer months (eight weeks) and provide knowledge about career opportunities and future employment prospects at ARS.
USDA is an Equal Opportunity Employer who welcome all students to apply for a summer positions. We want them to learn first-hand about the rewards, opportunities, and challenges of a career as an agricultural scientist. Because the students will be involved in actual research, they should be conscientious, dependable, alert, and responsible. They will work closely with a scientist and his/her support staff, which may include post doctorates, graduate students, technicians, and college undergraduates.
This summer program is for eight weeks or longer and students will be Federal Employees.
