LACEY, Wash. -- Federal and state disaster officials announced today that the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in North Seattle (King County) will transition to a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center from Monday, Jan. 7 through Thursday, January 17, 2008.

The DRC in Lynnwood (Snohomish County) will close at the end of business on Saturday, January 5, 2008, and will open at Everett Community College, Everett (Snohomish County) as a SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) Monday, January 7, through Thursday, January 17, 2008. Hours of operation for both DLOCs are:  9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

At the DLOCs SBA representatives will continue to provide individuals and business owners with face-to-face service in completing their loan applications, answering questions about SBA's loan program, and explaining how an SBA disaster loan can help pay for their disaster losses. Informational materials will also be available on FEMA's Individual and Household Program and the Hazard Mitigation Program.

Low interest disaster loans from SBA are available to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations.  Disaster loans from SBA are the primary source of funds for repairing and rebuilding disaster damaged private property.

Individuals in these counties affected by the storms of December 1 through December 17 may still register for federal and state disaster assistance by calling FEMA's toll-free registration number: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585. The lines are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily.  Those already registered who have questions about their application can call this number as well for answers or to update their information.  Registration online is also available at www.fema.gov. Through January 2 there have been more than 8,000 registrations for federal disaster aid.

Locations For Other Disaster Recovery Centers Unchanged

DRCs provide residents an opportunity to meet face to face with representatives from state and federal agencies to find answers to questions they may have about the recovery process. People should register with FEMA before coming to the DRC. Some phones and computers are available at the DRCs for those without access.

SBA representatives are at all Disaster Recovery Centers to meet individually with each resident or business owner to answer any questions about SBA's disaster loan program, help them complete their disaster loan application and accept their completed applications.  Anyone not able to visit a center should call 1-800-659-2955 for SBA assistance or visit the website at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
