CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Wednesday September 15, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will change the hours and days of operation of its toll-free registration and Helpline numbers. Services will be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

All Iowa homeowners, renters, farmers and business owners who sustained damage as result of the severe storms and flooding that began on July 2, regardless of where they live, should register with FEMA for disaster assistance, by calling 1-800-462-9029. The TTY number for hearing- or speech-impaired is 1-800-462-7585.

Those who have already registered with FEMA and have questions about assistance programs or the status of their application may call the Helpline, 1-800-525-0321. The TTY number for Helpline is also 1-800-462-8575.

The registration and helpline numbers will continue to operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. until further notice.
