PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Maricopa County residents and business owners who suffered damages from this September's severe storms have only until Tuesday, December 14, 1999, to register for disaster assistance. A reminder of the approaching deadline was issued today by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Arizona Division of Emergency Management (ADEM).

Approximately 400 individuals have registered with FEMA for various kinds of federal and state help, including temporary housing, low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and individual and family grants.

If you sustained monsoon damage to your primary residence or business between September 14 and September 23, 1999, and need assistance, call (toll-free):
