Charleston, WV -- For West Virginians who wish to have face-to-face meetings with Recovery Specialists to ask about available assistance on flood damages, the time for visiting the Welch, Whitesville and Oak Hill, WV Disaster Recovery Centers is getting shorter.
The following Disaster Recovery Centers will close at 6:00 pm on September 21:
Old Stephens Clinic, 791 Virginia Ave. in Welch.
The Salamy Building, 3817 Coal River Road, Whitesville.
The Fayette County Public Library, 611 Main Street, Oak Hill.
Until 6:00 pm on September 21, residents in the areas of these three Recovery Centers can get answers to their questions and check on the status of their applications.
Disaster Recovery Centers in Northfork, Mullens and Oceana remain open until further notice.
Even though these centers are closing, help is still as close as a telephone call. To register call toll-free 1-800-462-9029. Applicants may call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 to find out about assistance programs and the status of their applications. Those who are hearing- or speech-impaired can call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 to apply or to check on their applications. The telephone numbers are operational from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Saturday until further notice.
