This final course in the introductory series focuses on the use of the future tense, issuing commands and stressing possessives and prepare for Intermediate Spanish I (SPAN2210E). Students engage in weekly discussions that reflect various grammatical topics. ACE College Credit Recommendation Service reviewed. |

Objective
To provide the student with continued instruction in Spanish grammar as well as further improvement in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing.
Learning Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to converse about technology; the environment; government and its responsibilities; movies and entertainment; forms of communication; make hypotheses; express possession; give advice and make suggestions; express conditions and results; read more complex texts; and express a large variety of ideas in written Spanish.
Instruction
Major topics covered in the course include future and future perfect tenses; subjunctive with ajala, tal vez, and quizas; imperfect subjunctive and the indicative with adverbial conjunctions; possessive adjectives and pronouns (long forms); si clauses, conditional and probability; hacer in time expressions, pluperfect indicative and subjunctive; conditional perfect, indirect commands, subjunctive with indefinite and nonexistent antecedents, relative pronouns que, quien, lo qu; se for unplanned occurrences; passive voice; pero versus sino.
Methods of instruction include grammar presentations, group conversation, listening practice, examination and written exercises.
