Syllabus, Graduate School, USDA Objective
To help students further develop their speaking and listening skills, their knowledge of more difficult basic grammatical structures, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.

Learning Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to comprehend and speak at a very low intermediate level; write longer sentences correctly using more diversified structures and vocabulary; understand longer but still simple readings based on the vocabulary and topics studied in class; and acquire more insights into the culture of various Latin American countries.

Instruction
Major topics covered in the course include grocery shopping, weekend activities, clothing, careers, medical care, automobiles and emergencies. Topics of grammar include first person plural commands, constructions with se; present, past and future perfect; conditional perfect, conditional and subjunctive form of imperfect, present and plural perfect.

Methods of instruction include lectures, drills, situations, role playing, presentations, group work, videos, quizzes, projects, oral presentations, examinations and written exercises.
